Any one who knows me, knows I love Diet Coke. I mean LOVE it. I know it's not good for me. I know some people think it's horrific tasting. It is, hands down, my favorite drink. It's almost my favorite food. And I drink too much of it. But none of this is a secret or news flash if you know me.
I know all the health reasons for why I shouldn't drink it. And, I don't really care. Sort of like how a smoker knows cigs are bad for them, but it still isn't enough to make them quit.
I don't let my kids drink soda, ever. And so, like any addict, I convince myself that my kids will do as I say and not as I do. They will not follow my example, and they aren't really paying attention anyway.
Then today, I had this little scenario: I was getting ready to take Kenz to the Dr, so I told her to go out to the car and get in. I went out about 2 minutes later. She was hiding in the back seat, drinking the remnants of a week old diet coke. She had already polished off one other bottle that was atleast a few days old.
I said: "Kenz, what are you doing?"
Her: "Drinking diet coke."
Me: "That's a lot of soda at one time."
Her: " I learned from you."
What could I do? I am humbled.
I haven't had a Diet Coke in 8 hours. That is a new record for me.

hmmmm....should I tell you it actually surprised me to read that you're a diet coke addict! At least you admit it though, right? lol! Diggin' the new pic!
It's a bad habit from my youth.
ahahahahahahaha
that is HILARIOUS!!!!!!
I love the new picture? Did Kenz take it? It looks like a picture the boys would have taken when they were little. So Kenz likes "old" Diet Coke that is just nasty. I think it is great they she pointed out that you are the one that drinks it she was just wondering what was so great about it. I guess you will need to start hiding you stash and cleaning out the car.
Thanks for enabling me, PC! No, the actual goal is to drink almost none of it. Today I had one while at lunch. Water for the rest of the day.
It's really counterproductive with all the effort I put into the workouts, so it should go.
Glad to help. We all have our vices some are just more harmful than others.
Hey Heidi! Diet coke is bad, but if you must drink carbonated beverages you could try the carbonated/ sparkling flavored water or full flavored somethings like jones sodas which claim to be organic and all natural, both of which you can probably find at the co-op. Supporting the co-op and drinking organic sounds better anyway (at lesat in theory right)?....I am trying to re-start my blog again...I'll keep you posted!
